UK retail companies list – what’s on our database?
On our retailers database, we have the following contact data information
- 303,161 retail businesses and brands,
- 258,005 retail decision maker names,
- 224,455 retail decision maker telephone numbers, and
- 66,275 retail decision maker email addresses
Our list of retail-sector businesses is offered with a 12 month usage licence. You can contact the retail firms on this list as many times as you like for the year following purchase (subject to a maximum of one email campaign a month).
As one of the UK’s fastest growing data list companies, we also offer accuracy guarantees which, if we fail to meet them, will result in a pro-rata refund to you or the replacement of overage records.
What other information and statistics do you keep on retail companies in the United Kingdom?
We hold the following information on some or all of the UK retail sectors on our database:
- turnover (this is general business turnover and not the actual retail sales of a business on our database)
- number of stores (choose either single store or multiple stores within bandings)
- number of employees (we record the number of employees working overall for the businesses owned by retail employers on the disc. However, we are unable to break down the roles held by staff working for these employers – for example, shop floor staff, distribution staff, and so on)
- business growth (on a small selection of the UK retailers contained on our database, we hold information on both profit and turnover growth or negative growth).
Do I need to buy your entire database of UK retailers?
No – with any direct marketing campaign, you should only buy data for the contacts within companies most likely to need your products and services.
Is your database better for targeting certain types of UK businesses?
Our UK retail sector list is suitable for firms looking to target smaller firms – if you are targeting retail chains like Asda, John Lewis, Tesco, TK Maxx, Walmart, or PC World, please let us know so that we can provide you with a retail industry list which is more suitable for you.
Most of the businesses on our database have a company turnover of less than £5m – our lists are suitable if you are targeting businesses of this size.
Looking for e commerce retailers too?
We maintain separate lists for e commerce retailers (retail-sector firms whose greatest presence is online and which transact most of their sales via their websites and apps like ASOS) on our database. Please ask for more information on our online retailer data service.
What records are contained for every business and decision maker on the database?
Contained against the information held against decision makers on our general list of retailers are the following contents:
- contact title for salutations (for example, Mr, Mrs, Dr, Miss, and Sir)
- management contact name (separate fields for first and last name)
- job title (the job title reported by the contact)
- retailer name
- line of retail (please see the drop-down box below the contact box for a full list of classifications)
- legal status
- postal address including 2 lines for the address, town, county, and postcode
- telephone number (main switchboard number)
- decision maker email address
Do you only hold the names of senior contacts with general procurement responsibility?
Who is on our list of retailers? Generally, the contacts we have on retail industry database are for the CEO or managing directory if the company has less than 100 staff or 10 branches.
However, we have a small selection of other job functions available including retail operations, engineering procurement, facilities management, finance, fleet, health and safety, human resources, marketing, general procurement, sales, and telecoms. If you have a specific type of retail industry contact you want to market to, please let us know when you call us.
Do you hold information on UK retailers’ activities within other countries?
We currently do not hold this information.
Which companies generate the greatest return from marketing to UK retailers?
The entrepreneurship and the keenness to grow among some of the smallest companies on our database is evident. Year by year, we see many companies growing sales and branch numbers rapidly while others seek to increase turnover and revenue within their one solitary branch.
With our database, you can really exploit the opportunity it gives you to make more sales and to grow the number of retail customers you service.
Many retailers want help with developing and improving the customer experience. Consumers now seek something extra and different when positioning themselves against High Street and online competitors?
Do you have the knowledge and insight they need to help them hold in-store events and then to use these events as an opportunity to establish an email database which they could constantly use to let their customers know when there’s a sale on.
Are retailers showing off the consumer goods they’re offering to their clients as well as they could? Is a retailer’s online and offline presentational skills more or less likely to increase the chances of a sale? How could you help the retail companies on our database improve how they display their products to consumers in-store and on the internet?
Are there opportunities for your company to become part of retailers’ supply chains either in a wholesale capacity or by selling your products direct to them. Retailers make more money and offer longer-term sales opportunities when their supply chain partners keep them abreast of changes in the market and when they help them manage their stock better.
