How can B2B telemarketing calls reach some potential customers that email marketing cannot?

Overview

A long standing client from the commercial vehicle sector wanted to help in identifying additional sales and marketing channels. 

They currently carried out email marketing and PPC adverts.

As a reputable and well established business, they also received a high number of referrals from existing customers.

In addition they had also begun to utilise other online advertising within relevant magazines and trade associations.

Following a conversation with the More Than Words team we suggested that they could target trade contractors, who were sole traders and partnerships through B2B telemarketing calls.

Our Approach

Currently without prior consent these business entities were unable to be sent email marketing under GDPR, however they could be contacted by telephone after screening against the TPS/CTPS list.

A recent membership with a trade association provided the perfect opportunity for a 40 hour campaign of telemarketing calls to introduce themselves where they could:

  • find out when they planned to purchase a new vehicle
  • how many vehicles they had
  • generate leads for those who were in the market to purchase immediately
  • obtain permission to send email marketing

Conclusion

Without using B2B telemarketing calls these businesses would have remained unreachable through our clients current sales and marketing activity.

The majority of the recipients contacted through this telemarketing campaign appreciated the personal outreach, hence the high number of new email subscribers.

Following the success of this first telemarketing campaign, we carried out a further 3 campaigns where we continued to successfully uncover more sales opportunities and email subscribers.
